Ashley’s husband, Eric, is a counselor, and he’s got a pretty great way of seeing life. He says that in every successful relationship, there is a hot air balloon and a sandbag. The hot air balloon is typically the dreamer, while the sandbags is more of a realist. Without the sandbag, the hot air balloon would float off into the wild blue yonder of interesting ideas. Without the hot air balloon, the sandbag would never leave the ground of practicality.
It usually doesn’t take very long to figure out who’s who, and we were no different. We were friends first, but we didn’t come to truly appreciate the “hot air balloon & sandbag” analogy and how wonderfully we work together, until we rolled out the pen and paper to plan for those first batches of soap…
Always coming up with new products to make
Typically ready to make these new products… like tomorrow
Nickname on the job: The Talker
Prone to saying, “Mandy, we can do that!”
Where would we be without her? We would probably have just a slim, few products that look REALLY awesome, but at least all the bills would be paid on time.
Why I’m so thankful for Mandy: “She’s such an incredible listener, so she listens to every wild idea I have, but she sifts them all through her brain of common sense and heart of wisdom.”
- The detailer
- The finisher
Always coming up with packaging ideas and finishing touches
Typically throwing out a sandbag and saying, “Hold on there!”
Nickname on the job: Quality Control
Prone to saying, “Ashley, are you serious?”
Where would we be without her? Well, we might have a whole boat load of “almost finished” products that we stayed up all night to make and had to work by candlelight – because Ashley forgot to pay the light bill.
Why I’m so thankful for Ashley: “I call Ashley my ‘we-can-do-anything friend’ because she really has a sky’s the limit philosophy about life, and who doesn’t want a friend like that?!?”
